Ongoing Updates
Hello All!
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to interact with us on this very important issue. I don’t have much to update anyone on specifically, except that I thought I’d take a moment to answer the “easy” questions - the ones about how to stay up-to-date on new developments.

Again, thank you all for the comments thus far and please check back every couple of weeks (unless you subscribe to the feeds - then you’ll know anyway) for updates on any Steering Committee or Task Force meetings. In Western’s Faculty Teaching Position, there is the requirement of teaching baptism by immersion:
“Baptism is the immersion in water into the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is a biblically ordained confession of personal faith, portraying death to sin and resurrection to new life.”
Not all Multnomah faculty would agree with this as a requirement for faculty. Who has the authority to decide whose doctrinal statement is adopted? If a faculty member disagrees with the final statement, will they need to resign?
